Discovery Boxes include definitions and explanations of a given art or cultural subject, suggested activities and supporting 2-D and 3-D, and multimedia materials that enable educators to present a variety of interactive and hands-on activities directly related to the subject of each Discovery Box. Lesson plans and a listing of the Indiana Academic Standards met by each activity are included. Examples of the many Discovery Boxes available include West African Art, Egyptian Art, Aboriginal Art, Greek and Roman Art, Indiana Artists and Latin American Art and soon to come, Printmaking : Relief, Screen Printing and Monotypes, Photography, and Art & Science. Discovery Boxes are sponsored by the Downtown Optimists Club.
