A transformational gift of art from Dena and Ralph Lowenbach, and a new space to exhibit it
October 20, 2025 (Fort Wayne, IN) – The Fort Wayne Museum of Art recently received a large gift of contemporary studio glass from Dena and Ralph Lowenbach consisting of 96 contemporary works of art from the Lowenbach’s personal collection. A partial list of artists represented in the donation includes Karen LaMonte, Duncan McClellan, Vladimira Klumpar, Michael Pavlik and Judith Shechter. According to Charles Shepard, President and CEO, this gift will catapult the museum into its next century of collecting.

How the US Army created fake forces through illusion and deception to help secure Allied victory opens at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art
July 10, 2025 (Fort Wayne, IN) – The Fort Wayne Museum of Art and Bill Blass Legacy, Inc, are pleased to present “Ghost Army: The Combat Con Artists of World War II” August 2 through October 26, 2025 in the Museum’s galleries at 311 E. Main Street. The exhibition tells the story of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops which is a top-secret WWII unit that used deceptions and illusions to mislead the enemy. Fort Wayne’s hometown hero, Bill Blass, will be featured in the exhibition as an official member of the 603rd Camouflage Battalion.

May 22, 2025 (Fort Wayne, IN) – The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is pleased to announce Chalk Walk 2025 presented by Partner’s 1st Federal Credit Union from July 12-13. The Fort Wayne Museum of Art Chalk Walk has been a trademark event held on Main Street in downtown Fort Wayne since 2000.
Selections from the World’s Largest Independent Handbag Collection to be Exhibited at Fort Wayne Museum of Art
April 3, 2025 (Fort Wayne, IN) – The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is pleased to announce My PURSEonal Favorites: 300 Bags from the World’s Largest Handbag Collection, an exhibition of selections from the personal collection of Ilene Hochberg Wood. The exhibition will be on view April 19-July 20, 2025.
