May 11: Garden Party
Enjoy free admission, cash bar, and light appetizers among the cheerful and festive spring inspiring outdoor sculptures by Dorothy Gillespie. Gillespie was a pioneer for women in the arts. In her impressive career of over 70 years, she was an activist, lecturer, and mentor to creative women throughout the world. Twenty years before her famous exhibitions at Walt Disney World and Rockefeller Center, Gillespie had a city-wide exhibition in Fort Wayne in 1979, which helped launch her career. This exhibition honors that instrumental exhibition, showcasing a dazzling array of outdoor sculptures.
This exhibition is made possible by loans from the Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation.
Second Thursday at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art is sponsored by ProFed Credit Union.
