FWMoA Live: Gary Israel

Join Jenna Gilley, Associate Curator of Exhibitions and Gary Israel, President and CEO of the Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation and the artist’s son to learn more about the life and work of Dorothy Gillespie. Gillespie’s large outdoor sculptures are currently on display in the museum’s sculpture court, and an exhibition of her wall art along with her personal private art collection, which holds notable names such as Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring, and James Rosenquist, will be opening on September 3^rd. Viewers will learn more about Gillespie’s exciting time navigating the Modern Art scene in mid-century New York, her strides promoting female artists, and her development as a pioneer public art and site-specific sculptor.
