March 13: Printmaking Workshops and the Importance of Community
Printmakers have a long history exploring social issues in the service of the people. This talk will look at examples of printmaking workshops that are community centered, such as Self Help Graphics and Art in Los Angeles. Inspired by his time at Self Help Graphics, Sam Coronado followed its model and founded Austin, Texas’ Coronado Studio and the artist-in-residency program, the Serie Project, working with over 250 artists, including Connie Arismendi, Ester Hernández, and Malaquias Montoya.

This tour is free with museum admission but an RSVP is required. Payment will be taken at the door for non-members. Members receive free admission and free tour but must RSVP through this form. Limit of 15 in-person visitors. Unlimited digital access will be available on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
