Generations: A View of Who Was Who
A star-studded cast of African American artists through the generations, selected for their impact on each other and the art world as a whole. The Fort Wayne Museum of Art has made a conscious choice to collect art by African-American and other minority artists. This exhibit features specific works from the collection to contextualize the artists, their work in the stream of American culture as reflected by their artistic peers.
This exhibition features works by Romare Bearden, James Bolivar Needham, John Wesley Hardrick, Faith Ringgold, Elizabeth Catlett, Alma Thomas, and Jacob Lawrence, to name a few.
