Please note: This exhibition will be closed from March 2- 6 due to setup for a museum event and will reopen 4pm on Saturday, March 7. The museum’s Glass Wing will remain open during that time.
After eleven years of working as a fashion designer, Kirsty Mitchell began an immense and emotional photography project, Wonderland, dedicated to her mother, following her death from cancer. A master storyteller through her photography, Kirsty Mitchell embarks on a similar journey through her newest series, Quiescence, that follows her transition from motherhood to being diagnosed with breast cancer. The origins of the title ‘Quiescence’ come from its meaning, referring to a prolonged period of quietness or stillness. This exhibition features eight fantastical works from Michell’s Wonderland series alongside two works from her new Quiescence series that have never been seen before in the United States.
This exhibition is supported by Brenda and Steve Fishbaugh and the Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation.
