2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Award Winners
The nation’s longest running and most prestigious regional and national recognition program for creative teens, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards celebrates the artistic and literary expression of students in grades 7-12. Teens first submit works to their region for judging by members of their local community. Awarded regional Gold Keys then proceed to national adjudication. Each year, dozens of our region’s students receive national recognition, including the most notable award: the Gold Medal Art Portfolio.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards exhibition features selected awarded art and writing by students from Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio in 29 categories. Our recipients join the ranks of celebrated American artists and writers including luminaries such as Bill Blass, Truman Capote, Amanda Gorman, Robert Indiana, Luis Jimenez, Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates, Sylvia Plath, Tschabalala Self, Kay Walkingstick, and Andy Warhol.
Support for this exhibition is provided by Toni Murray, ProFed Credit Union, Howard P. Arnold Foundation, and the Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation.

Please note: This exhibition will be closed from March 2- 6 due to setup for a museum event and will reopen 4pm on Saturday, March 7. The museum’s Glass Wing will remain open during that time.
