In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana Chapter, this monthly tour program is specially designed for individuals with an early-stage diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or other form of early-stage dementia. Tours are free of charge and are led by museum guides trained to effectively communicate with individuals with an early-stage diagnosis of dementia. This program is modeled after the Museum of Modern Art’s “Meet Me at MoMA” program, which was authored by the New York City museum during its Alzheimer’s project initiative from 2007-2014. From that project, MoMA developed training materials to be adapted at museums across the country.
Meet Me at FWMoA is now virtual and in-person! To participate in the virtual tours, see the information below.
How to Participate
People who are interested in attending the monthly tours must be pre-screened through the Fort Wayne office of the Alzheimer’s Association by calling (800) 272-3900. Tours are free of charge for participants and their care partners and will take place the third Tuesday of each month at 2pm, lasting about an hour. Individuals will not be able to participate in this program without calling the Alzheimer’s Association to be pre-screened for an early-stage diagnosis and register for the program.
