Fired Up: New Vistas in Ceramics
Throughout art history, the genuine and limitless beauty of our earth has influenced the work of many creatives. Over time, landscapes have become more unconstrained in their expression, moving away from pure vistas to include architectural, cultural, industrial, and urban elements. This genre has also expanded its boundaries beyond its original roots in painting and photography. In this exhibition, regional artists Seth Green, George Morrison, Joseph Pelka, Joel Pisowicz, and Justin Rothshank explore their version of the landscape through ceramics, showcasing their technical abilities and individualized aesthetics. By creating work about the earth from the earth, they add dimension and perspective to the timeless conversation between artist and landscape.
Support for this exhibition is provided by the Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation and the Edna Foundation Fund.
