This Marvelous and Turbulent World: New work and installation by Andrew Schoultz

Andrew Schoultz has been working and refining his style for over a decade and uses his distinct imagery to illustrate our world and the history within. His work employs medieval to modern icons and explores the idea that disorder and war are constantly in flux and repeating themselves. Through his work, Schoultz hopes to bring the public closer to understanding life in tumultuous times.

“Chaos and destruction are reccurring themes in my work because I see these things happening around us constantly. Whether it is the multiple wars being fought all over the world, the natural disasters that seem to happen on a regular basis, the man-made environmental disasters that are becoming more and more prevalent, to the economic crisis that has been crushing this country’s poor and middle class for years, I have observed that we cannot talk about one of these things without talking about all of them, so it becomes a monster of a subject.”

Born in 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrew Schoultz currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
