This evening will feature expert insights from James R. Ross Fine Art owner Jim Ross, Indiana’s premier gallery for American art, especially early Indiana art. Moderated by Charles Shepard, FWMoA President and CEO, topics will include where and how to access art and objects, the process of buying and collecting art that has personal significance, and other exciting stories from the fascinating world that is the American art market. In addition to the program, each registration includes one free signature cocktail or mocktail by Copper Spoon Beverage Director, Chandler Vanous, and light snacks.

About the Speaker:

Jim Ross, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Herron School of Art, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, graduating in 1989. His first job upon graduating art school was as a graphic designer with the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where he developed his love of historic American art, and specifically early Indiana art. He is now the owner of James R. Ross Fine Art in Indianapolis, where for 28 years he has been curating, researching, and writing extensively about historic and contemporary traditional Indiana art. Mr. Ross has volunteered on the board of directors of several arts organizations over the years, most recently with the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation and with Indiana Heritage Arts, both based in Nashville, Indiana.
