Second Thursdays at FWMoA are a chance to explore the museum in a social atmosphere through conversation and discovery, featuring art and gallery activities led by museum curators and artists. Join us every month year-round for free admission, cash bar, and light appetizers. Check our events calendar for upcoming programs.

Second Thursday at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art is sponsored by ProFed Credit Union.

Mastrangelo Lecture Series

FWMoA’s Mastrangelo Lecture Series honors the remarkable lives of Dr. Mike and Mrs. Grace Mastrangelo and their devotion to furthering the Fort Wayne community through a shared commitment to the arts and public service. In their honor, FWMoA offers public lectures to inspire the next generation of art enthusiasts and curious, life-long learners.

Chalk Walk

The Fort Wayne Museum of Art Chalk Walk has long been a community favorite, held on Main Street in downtown Fort Wayne every year since 2000. The event is based on an Italian tradition of street painting that dates to the 16th century, known as “i madonnari” (street painters). Using pastels, artists of varying levels of experience may choose to reproduce existing artworks or create their own in their designated square.

Dia de los Muertos

illustration of sugar skull

This community-centered altar exhibition includes traditional elements of the ancient Latin American holiday, Día de los Muertos, such as sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, and photos or personal items of deceased relatives to honor the souls of the departed.

The holiday has evolved from a blend of Meso-American and Christian cultures, and those traditions come to life with this celebratory exhibition at FWMoA featuring memorials created by artists, families, and community groups from throughout the region.

ArtRageous Gala and Auction

Our annual fundraising event features live and silent auctions brimming with art, jewelry, travel and luxury packages, along with top-tier cuisine and other special surprises. This exciting and luxurious evening at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art raises essential funding to help us continue to provide exceptional visual arts experiences and resources to our community.
